These filters are all included in Filters alternate 7, thus you should avoid to place this file in your Filters directory.

The goal of this file is to show the settings of the new image blending filters.

Only apply them to images, open the Filters Editor, click on the "Image" primitives in the filter tree, and browse your images directories to select the image you want to blend.

Take care that some filters like "Garden of Delights" and "Tartan bicolor" have two images primitives, which allow to blend three pictures.

UPDATED on 2009 January 20 with ten new ones. Perhaps I should have called them "Plastic Letters". The last ones have glow and transparency effects. I placed a background to show it better. Specular light added to some of the contour effects. A little bit grainy because of Inkscape specular light limitations, but not a too big problem. Well adapted to small filled shapes too. Colorizable. Modifiable.

In fact my very first steps with Filter Effects.

Using aboundantly the "Melt" effect bundled in the development version. That's one of the reason they are a little bit heavy. I systematically removed its Convolve Matrix Primitive and reduced the blur to nearly zero.

Another one used also to build them was "Inkbleed".

Introducing "Embryo"

Embryo is a very simple non intentional automatic (*) nearly first shot drawing. It was intended to be a support for experimenting blur effects on crossed, angular and curved lines in Inkscape. After working several hours with it, it came out of the blur of my inconscient that it was very resembling to an animal or human embryo and that was why I called it "Embryo".

It's a poetic non ideologic symbol of life or artistic creation at its beginning and also a nice image of my first steps on this site.

On the other hand, the svg file contains a reusable and modifiable filter effect !

Enjoy it !
