Other Notes

I used the "find edges" feature of inkscape's bitmap trace. I then simplified the resulting curve to smooth edges. This layer was locked and colour added on a seperate layer underneath.

I decided to keep things simple by losing the gradients on the hair, although I did use a subtle gradient on the face to brighten it.

I'm reasonably happy with the result although I'd rather the cheek blush looked less mechanical.
