Why ? If you convert letters you can't edit it, so that's more diffucult to draw a n azerty a dvorak...

Well, it would be cool to have 2 versions. One with the editable letters, another with the letters converted. This way, the clipart could be usable as an illustration and as an editable clipart. There are somtimes problems with font sets on different computers, so it's alway good to think of that too. Anyway, thanks for sharing that clipart, it is IMO very useful :)

The suggestion to convert fonts to outlines is based on the unpredictable nature of how fonts will be displayed. The letters on this render differently on each of the 3 browsers I viewed it in. So there is the trade-off of being able to edit the letters and knowing how they will render. But I guess you see this as more of a building block than finished clipart.
