So hathor's little green man reminded me that numeria saw a ufo and even took a picture! it seems that she was trying to 'gaia-form' her backyard with some of thalia's grass, and a ufo came over - probably wanting to make some crop circles. (it seems to only grow in straight lines, and she calls it 'species 8472'. it's progress but thalia is laughing her grass off :-)

techie note - phinally phigured out philters! the grass can be multiplied by adding more 'displacement' filters as well as fine tuning the gradients and/or the ellipses. it still doesnt bend, tho
