It expresses the same cubic curves as those written in the formula in the graphic this is a remix of, but it expresses them as a function of ?time? (hence the use of f(t) rather than f(x) here). The time is not measured in seconds or any other units, as it is simply telling a browser or other software what order to turn on individual pixels to display the vector graphic on a raster device.

Leibniz, was a 17th/18th Century German mathematician and philosopher, one of the inventors of calculus (the other was Newton; see https://www.maths.tcd.ie/pub/HistMath/People/Leibniz/RouseBall/RB_Leibnitz.html for an interesting article on that).
He also had an influence on psychology. That is because Aristotle (and Thomas Aquinas, etc) claimed there was nothing in the mind that was not first in the senses. Leibnitz added to it, ?except for the mind itself?.
