gradient rendering test

Top row is made with a repeated gradient, the bottom with a gradient of steps at every even percent of the distance.

At 0.48 inkscape the bottom line renders in only 1024 breaks of the colours.

No matter how many new steps are added to the gradient, or if the steps are repositioned, it still won't make more number of the colours.

In the default gnome image viewer it renders fluently, but browsers also have rendering issues.
