Kinkakuji

Kinkaku-ji is one of the most popular tourist spots in Kyoto. I think that is a bit funny though because it is also one of the newest. The original temple was burned down by a crazy monk trying to commit suicide in the 1950s. It was rebuilt shortly after that.
