Swap Gender Roles

I know public restrooms usually have red and blue not blue and pink, but I thought this blue/pink scheme worked more for the symbolic break traditional gender roles idea. Why not househusbands and working women or female fire fighters and male nurses? I know there are examples of all of those steretypes being opposite of traditions, but there are also strong social stereotypes about certain gender roles still, so I thought this could symbolize swapping those.
