I have mentioned elsewhere I am working on a font. In reality, I am working on three closely related fonts, or should I say three separate font layers, which allow to have the text (parts of every character, that is) appear in three separate colors.
I rarely use Inkscape because I think it puts redundant information in the files, making them much bigger than necessary. But I have used it for this, so if you look at the SVG source code, you can see that this was indeed created by the same text in the three fonts overlaying each other (Inkscape lists the data of the fonts even after converting the text to paths).
Everything was then grouped and one of Inkscape’s filter options applied to the whole. And it looks like melting chocolate.
