Book of Durrow motif

The 7th Century Book Of Durrow has a number of Celtic Knot designs’. It is now at Trinity College Dublin and their site has high resolution images of the entire book. This example shows how Sturrock draws one of the motifs. Two coloured knots based on Sturrock are shown. The bottom left has the suggested arrangement at the centre of the four ‘elements’ and gives two paths. The bottom right has an altered centre arrangement and results in 16 paths.
