Trojan Horse

the common story is they disguised themselves inside a horse to break into a city... apparently recently historians think that "horse" was a misunderstanding of the original story and it was maybe a boat with tribute put in it

Incidentally, it is fun to see that an original 1849 (at the link) source was clearly plagiarized by this 1902 file on this page:
