SVG Invisible Shapes Test
by qubodup - uploaded on August 2, 2025, 7:28 pm
This invisibility test is meant to find out which methods for making shapes invisible work in the Openclipart bitmap converter/thumbnail generator.
Ideally you see only small text rendered into paths. If you see grey circles with black outlines, these are unsupported methods of hiding SVG shapes. Inkscape 1.2.2 and 1.4.2 for example doesn't support visibility="hidden", style="clip-path inset(100%)", style="filter: opacity(0)", style="transform: scale(0)", style="visibility: hidden", at least not in this file. Chrome 138.0.7204.169 and Firefox 141.0 support all of them.

I made this after https://openclipart.org/detail/352393/simplify-svg-cartoon-croc-animation having an unfortunate thumbnail (not blaming Openclipart). With the results from this test, I might be able to make an animation that only renders the first shape/frame in the Openclipart thumbnail.
Fun fact, I ran https://openclipart.org/detail/352402/svg-font-render-test to figure out what kind of font I can use in this test.
