This logo design is inspired by fractals and snowflakes. They are unique and represent abundance. The concept behind free culture is like a fractal and similar to much of the work done by the community on openclipart.org, where work builds on itself continuously and is posted with that intention. I think it's a strong metaphor for the event's focus.
