Baby Cut Turkey

What the...?! Old newspapers sometimes really confuse me. Is this a giant turkey, or a very small baby? And why is it holding the knife in a way that makes it look like it will cut the turkey in half? Half turkey for you and half for me? And why naked?? What?? From The Colville Examiner, 1907. The advertisement promised "we will give a turkey free to each family purchasing goods to the amount of $15"
