Stereotypical Japan

I suppose if you asked someone to draw the most stereotypical thing about Japan they would draw this (volcano shaped) Mt. Fuji, those pagoda buildings and a lady in a kimono. So it's a bit surprising that I found this in an old Japanese book. None the less, it's interesting.
