Japanese Bully

These Japanese kids are from the turn of last century (1900s) I guess. I wonder if the boy on the left is just having a bad day or if he is just being mean. If you notice the Japanese sandals (zori) they are wearing are what inspired the modern "flip flop"! (Or apparently in New Zealand English, "Jandals"!)
