The image is the no.46 of "ukiyo-e" print series titled "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji".                                                                   





Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (富嶽三十六景 Fugaku Sanjūrokkei) is a series of landscape prints created by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai (1760?1849). The series depicts Mount Fuji from different locations and in various seasons and weather conditions. The original thirty-six prints were so popular that Hokusai expanded the series by ten.







                         

"Ukiyo-e" or "浮世絵" is a genre of woodblock prints and paintings that flourished in Japan from the 17th through 19th centuries.                                                             "Ukiyo-e" or "浮世絵" had been manufactured through

a collaborative system (the hanmoto system) where the artist, carver, printer, and publisher engaged in division of labor.                  

                                 



This image's English title is "The back of the Fuji from the Minobu river" .

The Japanese title is "身延川裏不二" or "Minobu-gawa ura Fuji

".
