In the United States, the crossbuck sign at the crossing is placed above the number of tracks indicator. As you can see, this is an incomplete assembly; feel free to complete it with a post or anchor of your choosing. The design is from the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), R15-1 with R15-2P, 2003 Edition. All images from the Manual are considered Public Domain.
