Asteroid 2024 MK near the Earth on June 29, 2024

This is an update to a previous posting showing another asteroid passing fairly close to the Earth. This one will pass about 181,000 miles from us, between the Earth and the orbit of the Moon. Asteroid 2024 MK will make its closest approach on June 29, 2024. It's between 400 feet and 850 feet in length. It was only found 10 or 12 days before closest approach. It has been estimated that it would have an equivalent impact energy approaching a gigaton if it hit the Earth.
