Shoot oneself in the foot

This drawing was born out of a desire to better visualize this rather strange expression, which was recently illustrated here ( https://openclipart.org/detail/350094/shoot-yourself-in-the-foot ) by @j4p4n.

FYI: Here's the Wiktionary explanation of this expression:

"To act against one's own interests; to behave involuntarily in a self-destructive manner".

I would add that we often act VOLUNTARILY or CONSCIOUSLY against ourselves.

For example, a smoker who smokes 2 packs of cigarettes a day when he's already having trouble breathing. Or someone who lies to the person he/she loves. Or a naturalized American of foreign origin living in the USA who actively supports Donald T. [ why? because sooner or later he'll be called a foreigner, a second-class citizen and considered a fake American... who dirties the blood of "real Americans"].

In fact, we'll be shooting ourselves in the foot almost every day ;-)
