Openclipart September 2025 Updates Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who has been using Openclipart for the past 21 years. Behind the scenes, we have been working on improvements to Openclipart.

The biggest improvement is ealtime search is working. Try to search for Memes.

Also, we've made improvements to the detail page in order to make sharing links to clipart simpler. You will note there is a shortened format that works now for clipart, to make it simpler to share: ✂ openclipart.org/320497 ✂

Also, we have been going through our database which is loaded with 21 years of changes. We decided we would email everyone and check in about how things are going. Already, this has helped increase contributions and started discussions about future improvements to the collection. Many people are very concerned about AI. Others, think we should have our own AI trained on Openclipart. You have a position?

We have already emailed about 30,000 accounts out of 190,000 and have found many issues! There was a time we allowed people to send in an image to create an account. There was a lot of accounts that got thru in this time period. And, as it goes there are many emails that no longer work. With that being said, for people who reply back positively, we added a new flag to allow sending emails from Openclipart, but also for those who do not want email, we made that possible too.

Towards the future of the site, we are going to improve account distinction. Our main accounts will be of two types:

- Contributors: Artists & Librarians

- Patrons: Members, Organizational Members, and Corporate Members

Originally, we added the $1 donate request to accounts to help control the inflow of fake accounts. And, now, we will provide member services requested by Patrons.

Immediately, Patrons receive:

- Ads Removed (upon login)

- Usage and Copyright Feedback on Requests

- Earlier Access to Features

- High Priority Email to the Support Team

- Unique Patron Vanity Addresses
