Mnemosyne

Mnemosyne (dont ask me how to pronounce it :-) is the muse of memory. another deep one. so 'wounded by dust' - laura marling (who has polyhymnia on speed dial, i think :-) - are powerful words about memory, at least to some of us. but there are always 'gems of beauty' in there, too, arent there?

another take on memory and cultures (that i remember) is in 'the buried giant' by Kazuo Ishiguro (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Buried_Giant). a warning about cultural amnesia, i think.

how could i forget Ted Chiang's 'story of your life' which was made into the movie 'Arrival' . a trippy take on time, memory, and physics (which wasn't in the movie) that you do remember, eventually :-)
