These on the internet "pig butchering scams" on the Internet are getting more common.... that is a type of investment fraud in which victims are gradually tricked into using more money, usually in the form of cryptocurrency, to a seemingly "safe" investment before the person they are dealing with disappears forever. It's often similar to a romance scam as the person that is slowly tricking the victim flirts with them or is nice to them before finally "butchering" their victim and stealing a large amount of money, sometimes even months after first meeting them online.
